WAM Engineering Named Official Partner for Valiant Pub Co.

WAM Engineering Services has been officially appointed as the engineering partner for Valiant Pub Company across Wales and the South West, marking a major milestone for the fast-growing commercial kitchen specialists.

To kick off the partnership, WAM delivered a complete kitchen refurbishment at one of Valiant’s flagship venues, The Coaching Inn in South Molton, Devon.

Valiant Pub Company owns and operates a distinctive portfolio of pubs across the UK, with ongoing investment in new sites and refurbishments.

With an expanding estate and ambitious plans, they needed an engineering partner who could be relied on for end-to-end kitchen solutions, and WAM was the natural choice.

Alistair Green, Owner of WAM Engineering Services, said, “Becoming the official partner for Valiant in this region is a huge moment for us. We’ve built a reputation for getting the job done properly, with minimal disruption to service, and this partnership allows us to do exactly that, at scale, across multiple sites.”

The first project under the new partnership saw WAM take the lead on a full kitchen refit at The Coaching Inn, part of a wider £750,000 redevelopment of the pub. With the kitchen playing a central role in the venue’s success, Valiant brought in WAM to manage the entire process, from initial design to final commissioning.

Kyle James, Manager at WAM, oversaw the job from start to finish. “We sat down with the team to understand everything – number of covers, menu style, service flow, footfall, seasonal surges. Then we designed a layout and equipment plan that would maximise speed, safety, and output without compromising on usability.”

The kitchen was fully fitted with a professional-grade lineup of commercial equipment.

This included dual Retigo stacked ovens, a suite of Lincat Opus appliances including fryers, a solid top range, salamander grill and water boiler, as well as Classeq glass washers, a Maid Aid dishwasher, and a Blue Ice coffee machine. The team also installed a Blizzard ice machine, ATOSA fridges and meat drawers, Samsung commercial microwaves, a Harry Fabrication gantry, Mechline handwash and pre-wash sinks, fly killers, a modern grease management system and a brand-new gas interlock.

The full installation took just two weeks, including three intensive on-site days followed by additional visits for adjustments, testing and certification.

“We know time is money in hospitality,” said Kyle. “So we work fast, but we never cut corners. Everything was commissioned and tested properly, with minimal disruption to the wider refurb.”

This project demonstrates exactly what WAM Engineering Services brings to the table. Whether it’s a single upgrade or a full kitchen overhaul, the team combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of how hospitality businesses actually operate.

“We’re not just installers,” added Alistair. “We’re engineers, planners and problem-solvers who understand how a kitchen works in service. That’s what makes the difference.”

As the partnership between WAM and Valiant rolls out across more sites, pubs throughout Wales and the South West stand to benefit from WAM’s proven approach, combining bespoke kitchen design, top-tier equipment and reliable installation.
