The Queen's Arms In Bromyard

When The Queen’s Arms in Bromyard, Hereford, reopened its doors following an extensive refurbishment, it marked an important moment for one of the town’s best-known High Street pubs.
Behind the scenes, WAM Engineering Services was proud to play a key role in bringing the venue back to life through the design, supply, and installation of a brand-new commercial kitchen.
Working alongside Valiant Pub Company, the Swansea-based catering engineering specialist delivered a complete kitchen solution designed to support the pub’s new food offering and provide a practical, reliable working environment for the team.
The project involved the installation of a wide range of commercial catering equipment, including a Retigo combi oven, Lincat fryer and griddle suite, refrigeration, bottle coolers, glass washing equipment, stainless steel preparation stations, storage solutions and dedicated wash-up facilities.
Every aspect of the kitchen was carefully considered to maximise workflow, efficiency and food quality.
Kyle James of WAM Engineering Services said, “The Queen’s Arms is exactly the sort of project we love being involved with. This is a well-known pub in the heart of Bromyard with a rich local history. To know we’ve played a part in helping bring it back into use for the community is something we’re incredibly proud of.”
Designing and Delivering a Modern Commercial Kitchen
The newly refurbished kitchen has been designed to support a varied menu while providing the durability and reliability required in a busy hospitality environment.
The cooking line centres on a modern Lincat suite featuring commercial fryers and griddle equipment, supported by a high-performance Retigo combi oven that delivers consistent results across a wide range of dishes.
Alongside the cooking equipment, WAM installed dedicated preparation areas, under-counter refrigeration, pass stations, storage shelving, glasswashers, refrigeration units, and stainless-steel fabrication throughout the kitchen.
Kyle continued, “When designing a kitchen, it’s never just about fitting equipment into a room. It’s about understanding how the team will work, where food will move, where bottlenecks could occur and how we can create a space that makes service easier and more efficient. Every kitchen is different, and this one was designed around the needs of the business.”
Supporting Hospitality and the Local Community
The completed installation provides a clean, practical and highly efficient workspace capable of supporting the pub’s food operation for years to come.
For WAM, projects like The Queen’s Arms represent more than simply installing equipment.
Kyle added, “Pubs remain an important part of communities across the UK. They bring people together, support local employment and help keep High Streets vibrant. Seeing The Queen’s Arms reopen and welcoming customers again makes all the hard work worthwhile. We’re delighted to have worked with Valiant Pub Company on the project and wish the team every success for the future.”
